The cue was made by H.J. Davis & Co., a London billiards firm that was established in 1896. The cue was probably made before 1914.
Some people mistakenly believe that H.J. Davis & Co was associated with the great Joe Davis or that the Kent Champion Cue is an early Joe Davis Cue. This is incorrect.
