The Cue Collector - John Roberts Snr Round Badge
This is a John Roberts Snr Round Badge.  It has a small ivory badge set in a mahogany butt which is hand-spliced to an ash shaft.

John Roberts Senior was the professional champion from 1849 to 1870, when he lost the title to William Cook Senior.

He and his son, John Roberts Junior, dominated the game of billiards throughout the second half of the Victorian period.

The cue was made by Burroughes & Watts, probably in the 1880s.
